I had problems installing it for my 2080ti Aorus Geoforce GPU, but i had to use a removal tool first. Crashes seem almost nil now, for about a full day. It could be related to DirectX 11 as well, i force that for the ME by selecting Windows 7 mode in compatibility. ... For DirectX 12 programs i would not know which driver version to use. I still have to test Clifs ... Edited December 7, 2020 by jollyjack
Sokol1 Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) Since I plan install Windows from scratch in a new SSD in next days, I decide try the 457.51 driver, released in 02/12. Uninstall the previous drivers and clean register with Auslogics BootSpeed. Install the new driver give issues, I don't want install Geforce Experience neither Nvidia Physics, the only game I play that use this thing is the old and obscure 7754 - a Vietnamese game about Vietminh fight against French (7.7.54 is date of victory in Dien Bien Phu) but the installer fail, saying that are not able to install Geforce Experience - un-ticked, what seems a common error even for one that want install this "bloatware". https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-experience/14/279449/nvidia-geforce-experience-failed-to-install/ So did the driver install using "old school" update drivers in Devices Manager. Second issue, arround a year ago Microsoft force Nvidia turn their Nvidia Control panel a "app" to be installed only through Microsoft Store... but I have uninstalled most of MS bloatware...? In CloD - after clean cache I run "The Black Death" track and no issues so far, graphics seems OK (in an old Geforce GTX 970). BTW - Windows 10 updated. Edited December 7, 2020 by Sokol1
No_85_Gramps Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 I installed 457.51 a couple of days ago and have not had any issues.
Sokol1 Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 (edited) I put an new 250 GB SSD in my old (8 years) computer and make a new install of Windows 10/64 - 20H2 version, compilation 19042.685. Install latest Nvidia driver (for an old Geforce CTX 970) - 460.79 Install motherboard drivers, Steam and IL-2:CloD. My folder "Documents" are in other driver, so I just change the location of the new created "Documents" for the "Documents" in this drive. For a while IL-2: CloD work flawless, keeping my video adjusts, control assignments and custom missions/campaign. Edited December 13, 2020 by Sokol1
