'Village Assault' - A Single Player Mission for the M4A2 Sherman

This single player Mission titled 'Village Assault' for the M4A2 Sherman Tank was designed alongside my Voice Attack Tank Crew 'Commander' Profile (found in the mods section here but also included in the mission download).

Used to showcase the profile, it can be used with or without Voice Attack.

Basic in structure, you command a British Army 6-tank platoon of Shermans, assaulting a village with 3 RAF Tempest aircraft as support (you must have Bodenplatte for the aircraft to show). The idea is that you use the included Voice Attack profile to issue spoken commands to your platoon.

The mission was written with the assumption that 'Object Markers' are turned 'OFF' but elements of the HUD left on as there are pictorial plates and onscreen text during the mission. My first shared mission so any constructive criticism welcomed.

Thanks.

Baz.

How do you install it?  Also, where to install jpegs and mp3s?

This mission didn’t work for me. Trying to open it in the mission screen took me back to the mission list.

Couldn’t open it in the mission editor either.

View the mission *.lst” file and look at the file paths.  That’s usually where the problem lies.

Tried adjusting the file paths. But it still wouldn’t open.

Deleting the msnbin file might let the mission editor open it.

That did it! Able to edit the paths for the media from within the ME, and played the mission. Great fun!

Just got TC on sale, enjoying it so far.

I began creating my own VA profile, and was getting down into the Commanders menu, and realized it was a task, so I searched and found this post.

Great work sir! Saved me a lot of time. A few comments though for others than might be working to get the VA profile, if you are looking to "update / modify / import / add" these VA commands.

Now, normally what I do is use the VA option to "link" profiles together in a case like this, to include the commands from different profiles (like my TrackIR profile, OBS profile, etc). However this caused a few problems doing it that way. Mainly, when you have complex VA profiles, they often won't work linking them like that. In that case, I will then use the VA option to "copy" the individual commands from one profile to another (I was going to import the commands specific for the menu into my VA profile in work as I don't need all the other commands that are included).

This presented another problem however, due to the fact you use the "Enque" stuff, VA would not allow copying the individual commands into another profile. So, the workaround is to open any VA profile you might already have or are trying to import/add commands to, go to "edit" that profile, and in the lower left select "Import Commands", and select Baz's IL-2 GBS Profile-1-2-Profile.vap, and import it into your own profile, which will add all the commands. (of course make a copy of your profile first as a rule of thumb, in case you mess up or results are not what you want). This will "merge" the two profiles, and you can then modify your profile.

Second, I was getting a lot errors, UNABLE TO ENQUE COMMAND - COMMAND NOT AVAILABLE.

After digging into it, I noticed  that it all seemed to boil down to the fact that you had the Commanders menu key set to "OEM 8", and not the Tilde ` character which is default in the control settings. So the commands were stopping because the Commanders order menu was not opening. I'm not sure what "OEM 8" is for a keybind, but once I changed that VA command for Command Menu back to the Tilde character to match the in-game settings, all seems to be functional now.

Thanks again, I think you saved me a lot of work.
