beebee23 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 when the engine completely off, no battery.....the flaps works ? bug ?

JtD Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 The P-47 had a manual pump for the hydraulics system in case the engine fails. The pump lever is to the left of the pilot seat. It is a bit odd that in game there's no noticable penalty when using manual/emergency mode for the hydraulics.
Cpt_Siddy Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 Unrelated thing but does the intercooler actually do anything on this thing? I have noticed no difference if you just slam it shut and leave it be.

You should see a raise or lowering in temps on the carb air gauge when opening/closing it. Edited August 16, 2020 by Legioneod
=362nd_FS=RoflSeal Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Yeah if you slam it closed it slows you down. Fastest is flush (50%)

Open it to prevent charge air from exceeding maximum permissible temperature or risk detonation. Spoiler

Honza Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Flew around 2-3 mins at 70 °C and nothing happend. Though, p47s were able to sustain quite a lot of overstress of basically each part quite often so maybe its modelled in game to some degree. There is even case where one D-5 was modify to run above 70 manifold and it did it without problem.
Cpt_Siddy Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 (edited) That is an issue, then. The reason you cooled the air is to lower its density and get in more oxygen. If there is no performance penalty from this then its is not implemented yet. 65" manifold with 70C carb air is considerably less power than 0C from the standpoint of just pure thermodynamic cycle.
