Junkers188 Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 It just keeps getting better and better. THANK YOU for all the hard work thats put into making IL-2 Everything. Please consider a late war Night Fighter's over Berlin ??? JU88G1's and G6's and HE219A?? PLEASE. Any way please keep up the amazing work as far as I'm concerned the IL-2 series is the only realistic Sim out there. It has also given me more respect to the poor guys who were forced to fly new aircraft like the ME-262 with so little training. Thanks again and Keep up the good work.
Lusekofte Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 (edited) I guess antennas can be made like a mod. And removing the gondola too. I really like a DO 215 myself. But to be honest , its envelope for use would be smaller than U2. We wont get a dedicated nightfighter. Maybe a option in weapon selection at best Edited August 4, 2020 by 216th_LuseKofte
vonGraf Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 A BF-110 with 'Schräge Musik' and Lichtestein antennas?

I share your interest and enthusiasm for this aspect of air combat. There would be too many challenges, and probably not economically viable. 1) Map: BoBp map is big, you're asking for a HUGE map unless you go with airstarts for the RAF (I would for this franchise). 2) Map: with an airstart over Amsterdam it's ~360 miles to Berlin. At 210 mph (3.5 miles per minute) it would take the AI 1.7 hours (1 hour 42 mins) to get to Berlin. 3) Avionics: currently no model for radar behavior, no cockpit scopes, no model for early ECM or ECCM. 4) Available adversaries: currently A-20s and AI Mitchells. Eventually FB Mk VI Mosquitoes that could meet the Intruder (Flower) role. 5) Historical adversaries: currently no Lancasters, or Halifaxes, no Mosquito bomber or night fighter variants. 6) Historical adversary tactics: currently no Pathfinder target identification methods. Fingers crossed that Jason 1) wins the PowerBall and 2) simultaneously is overcome with the desire to spare no expense to make this happen. 1
