Is alternate plane visibility turned on in expert mode?

Im having trouble noticing a difference. 

Is there a list somewhere of options turned on in expert mode in single player?

The list of difficulty options is color-coded, so you can see what difficulty options are enabled with each preset. Options not color-coded are not part of the two preset difficulty options.

Normal is green check boxes? Because there are only green boxes, red boxes and boxes with no color code. The preset buttons otoh are green for normal and orange for expert. There are no boxes with orange outlines. So since there are no boxes with orange outlines, there are no options selected with expert?

If you want to have options, you have to use 'Custom' difficulty. I use it to be able to use external view, to take a look at my aircraft after landing if I was hit.

'Expert' difficulty is meant to be as realistic as possible, which means hard difficulty, so no alternate visibility.
