Noisemaker Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 OK, something odd happened today in my Kuban Spitfire career. Yesterday at the rank of Capitan, I became squadron commander due to losing the previous commander in a flight. I had a glorious day of being squadron commander setting all the skins, engines and gun convergences for the flights. 2 successful missions accomplished and was subsequently promoted to Major, only to find that now I am no longer squadron commander, and that a brand new Junior Lieutenant with no kills is the new Squadron Commander. What gives?
Trooper117 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 You have to stop messing about with the Wing Commanders wife mate, or next you'll be flying a fridge in Siberia... 1 4
[CPT]Crunch Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 It's not best for your health to criticize young Yakov Iosifovich Dzhugashvili, let him do whatever he pleases. 2
Noisemaker Posted July 30, 2020 Author Posted July 30, 2020 Look, Natalya visited me the last time I was in the medical tent. I had scratched my finger shutting off the engine after landing (This seriously happened. Landed, canopy open, engine off: "I'm wounded!"... Uh...) and nothing happened. We're just friends. 4

What gives? Be patient, your full command will be restored after a mission or two. The AI squadmates have an extremely high attrition rate in my experience and if you can dodge the Luftwaffe attacks you will be flying with a completely new set of names soon.
US63_SpadLivesMatter Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 (edited) Perhaps the party is not pleased by your politics, comrade. Consider this a reminder. Edited July 31, 2020 by US63_SpadLivesMatter
Noisemaker Posted July 31, 2020 Author Posted July 31, 2020 All is again as it should be. It seems my replacement was only temporary, at least until I could prove myself fit for duty after my one day stay in the medical tent for my cut finger (Hard to sign order papers and letters to the families with an injured finger!). After his first day consisting of two missions of lacklustre performance, the junior lieutenant was quietly transferred to a bomber squadron, and I have returned to my desk. The paperwork is building up unfortunately, as I have a squadron full of rookies to protect on their first missions, and my finger hurts... 1
