Dagwoodyt Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Need suggestions as to best setup for online game play.
Team Fusion ATAG_Pattle Posted July 29, 2020 Team Fusion Posted July 29, 2020 I have Audio-Technica M40X studio headphones and Blue Yeti mic. Outstanding clarity. Enjoy the many different comments/opinions coming your way though ?
itsbillyfrazier Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 (edited) I have been using a Bayer Dynamic MMX300 for about 6 months now and I'm very pleased. Excellent sound quality for games and a solid, simple build for durability. Replacements parts are also available if needed. https://www.thomann.de/ie/beyerdynamic_mmx_300_2._generation.htm I'm not sure what your budget is but I would buy the best you can afford. Try and stay away from "Gamer brands" is probably the best advice I can offer. These tend to be gimmicky, overpriced and many have questionable build quality from my experience. Go with established quality brands who specialise in headsets/ speakers etc . See the likes of Sennheiser, Bayer Dynamic, Bose etc. They may seem expensive, but your ears will thank you and your wallet will also.... eventually! (cheap headsets usually break because of poor build quality or the sound quality suffers overtime. At least in my experience). Edited July 29, 2020 by itsbillyfrazier
LLv34_Flanker Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 S! Nothing fancy here, but have done their job fine: HyperX Cloud Revolver S. Sound is fine and mic works too. Not too pricey either.
ATAG_Flare Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I had a cheap as heck logitech USB headset for years. Cable connector eventually broke but nobody ever complained about the mic quality.
Dagwoodyt Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 Hopefully this thread can be of help to other viewers as well. I have started researching gear referenced above. All gear suggestions appreciated. Durability and provision for cleaning ear cushions are important considerations also. Thanks! 32 minutes ago, ATAG_Flare said: I had a cheap as heck logitech USB headset for years. Cable connector eventually broke but nobody ever complained about the mic quality. I have an old Altec Lansing on-ear set, not USB. Clamping force is grim though and I cannot tolerate them for long.
dazako Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I have the HyperX Cloud II headset from Best Buy. Not by any means expensive and perfectly functional / comfortable. I only wish I could find a chair as inexpensive, functional and comfortable. After years of desk flying my back and arse are killing me ! Daz 1
SIA_Sp00k Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Razar Megladon 7:1 headset and inbuilt mic. Has inline control box you can mute yourself, control mic and earpiece volumes separately. Love the system. Cons: Overhead headset band could be more adjustable. Mic makes me sound like an Australian. 1
