Danish pilots - Looking for other DK's

Recommended Posts

Topic says it all.

Does anyone know anything about other fellow danes or nordic communities who are as enthustiastic about flying together etc. as we are?
Preferably danish of course.

We are two guys who has been flying a bit on and off through the years, nothing to serious yet. We love the sight of more planes flying together and the idea of working together as a crew on a single plane.
We have flown a bit of FSX / DCS / IL46 / CLOD together in the past.

Point us in the right direction! :)

If i wanted you mother i wouldnt be looking for her here..

Seriously, what is up with the attitudes on this board..

Anywho, any danes wants to have fun feel free to contact me, I dont feel like hanging around here much with all the hostility i've seen.

It was a joke (though she is Icelandic).

We (II/JG3) have a Stuka staffel in which you could crew, but there are more dedicated GA units around (we're primarily a fighter gruppe). I'm not aware of any specifically Denmark/Scandinavia-based units though.

Look for JaVa F16 / F19, LeLv, type in google, should help m8.

Im Danish and looking for others to join or start a squadron, preferably Danish, but its not a must. It is mostly due to the timezones im looking for "locals". For this time being i have not got the time to manage such a squadron because i have small children, but will be happy to "gi´ en hånd med" ;)

You've got another Dane here, but in between working 2 jobs and having family life, I'm not sure, if I have the time to spare to be much of an active squad member.

Thats my problem to, only a few hours a week and only when the kids are a sleep :)

Like the other squadron out there, we should have a homepage(kept simple) with a news, calendar and maybe a guestbook so others can join. Perhaps facebook is an ok platform for that.

The reason i would like to join a nordic squadron is the timezone. I cannot find the time to go flying with eg. an english based SQ with GMT+1.

Im almost strictly flying german aircraft, what about you guys?

Posted (edited)

Nice to see other danes :salute:
I dont have the energy to create something from scratch, I've done plenty of that in the past so Im just looking to join in. And unlike you I'm free from the whole kid/wife thing so I dont have so many timezone restrictions hehe :-)

I'm part of a small community on teamspeak where most of us know each other in real life, we meet several times a year at airshows etc..
Not to brag or selfpromote here, but I think its safe to say I'm pretty much in a whole other league compared to the other guys I know, when it comes to flightsimming. I can fly for hours, I study air to air combat as much as I can, sometimes I even go to bed thinking of tactics and flying haha.

So thats why I'm searching a bit to see if there should be other guys around who are just as into it as I am, because I do feel a bit by my self on this topic here in Denmark.

My weak sides are that Im not really a people's person and I dont talk much at all, but I love flying planes and playing other games in multiplayer.

Im also sticking with the german planes. Bf-109 F4 is my favorite plane right now, and also the stuka with 37mm is a thrill! :)

Bloody hell guys, if you were selling cars they'd be Trabants.

That was another friendly joke by the way.

Finkeren, our gruppe is set up so you can fly solo as and when you're able. All you need to confirm your kills is guncam footage (Bandicam or similar). And I'm pretty flexible on times; saturday just gone I was waiting up until 2am so I could fly with my US guys on the 401 CloD server. Got to bed at 5am. Our usual meetup is sunday 7pm GMT but I'm pretty much available from 10am to 10pm> all week.

Just saying. ;)

Lay of the jokes! Danes are humorless.

(Apologies for not catching the jokes)

@MUGGI

Not being a peoples person is not a weakpoint in air combat, there is nothing more anoying than some punk who likes the sound of his own voice and just cant shut up.

Id be your topcover any time if youre in the Stuka ;)

So i guess youre going to Karup airshow this year?

@SIGGI

Do you have to record your kills if you dont care about the glory and the medals? I know im not selling myself very good here, but im just being honest about my commitment to a potential staffel, from what i can see there is big diffrences about the commitment the staffels requests.

Well, the DiD persona system is a fundamental concept for us. Without it we'd just be playing air-quake (spawn, die, spawn, don't care about dying, fly like a nut-job...). The more one earns, over time, the more one cares about dying and that leads to far more realistic behaviour while flying. That, for us, creates a far greater level of immersion. But it's not for everyone, we all go for what gives us, individually, the greatest fun. :)

I see what you mean and i agree that it will make sure you try to survive. But i am hoping for a point/resource system in the MP in BOS. Ive made this suggestion to further force pilots to make an effort in saving thier planes- From a previous post:

If you bail or crash outside the vicinity of your home base, you loose 50% of your points and recive a 3 min cooldown time.

If you make a succesfull bellylanding or bail out in the vicinity of your home base, you can restart in another plane with standard loadout.

If you land succesfully at your homebase and taxi to a jägerbox, you get rearmed and refueled, but NO repairs. You will get the choice of continue in own aircraft with your own loadout or get a new plane with standard loadout. Duration im thinking 2 min. I know that it is no realistic, but it is a simulator/game.

I know that it is only a suggestion and is not implemented in the game.

Those are good ideas but simmers have been asking devs for stuff like that for years and not one sim, to my knowledge, has implemented any of them. So we do it ourselves, or as much as we're able.

Some years from now we'll have AI coding our games and then they'll come with every single bell & whistle imaginable. Won't be much use to me though I expect; I'll have died and been reborn already, as a cat.

Sweet :-) This is a little clip I made from today, sadly the the mission ended in a bad time as allways! ^^

I'm having a tough time spotting the 109's from the yak's ! So alot of my flying ends up with evading friendlies and stalking silouettes until I am absolutely sure what plane it is before I attack. Do you guys also have a hard time spotting friend from foe?

Yes, me and about 6 friends of mine are going to Karup airshow. To bad no ww2 planes are showing up :-)

I doubt that the player base is big enough in Denmark for a dedicated Danish squadron. Go with one of the Scandinavian squadrons that are already out there.

However, if like me, you only have limited time, have a look at the http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/ , there's a few Norwegians flying Red and a couple of Swedes and I flying Blue. There's only the Sunday night campaign you're asked to commit to regularly. We are flying Cliffs of Dover, though most of the guys are into BoS and /or DCS also.

Thanks for the link to aircombatgroup. Looks really good, I will consider that when BoS is complete and we know whether or not the game will be worth it or if it's back to CloD, because right now I have my doubts about BoS. :)

Yeah, I dont think its big enough either. Even though I personally know, and know about 5 other danes who bought or will buy BoS, and are interested. But I am fairly sure most of them are like "Cool graphics lets kill something for a week until we are bored" - ish. Because thats how they are with most other games :P
With you danes here, we would allready be counting 8 pilots. So I think it could be possible, but it would require a good leader who knows how to arrange interesting stuff. That counts me out

I was born to rule the world, not a squadron  :salute:

How much arrangement is there if we use existing servers? The importiant thing is that we log in on the same server and fight like a unit. Am i wrong? have never "flown" in a squadron before.

Posted

Haha exactly
I guess your right on that. Not much needed, more than the arrangement of the date, time and server to join. (And who's gonna be the lead wingman).

We will see when the game comes out, I think Im sticking with CloD for a while right now. :)

Im not a good wingleader, due to no formation flying at all.  :o:

COD is good, the only thing, Im liking the F-4 and FW190 to much.

As i posted earlier, facebook is an ok platform for dates, times and servers.

I am dane too. My 19te Sqaudron is more of a ww1 Sqaudron so I am looking for more pilots to fly with in BOS. I also have family and kid so time is not what it used to be. But I still mostly get to fly 1 or 2 hours each day in BOS.......when the rest of the family is sleeping
