Sound Volume Resets to Zero

Recommended Posts

I fiddled with the sound volume in the Blitz Audio menu. Since then in-mission sound resets to zero no matter how many times I move the slider to the level I desire and click "Apply". When I temporarily exit the mission to move the volume level off zero in order to have sound in the mission sound returns but the game will crash shortly afterward. This make Blitz effectively unplayable. Is there a work around for this problem?

Don't remember anyone else encountering this.

In any case, you should always set the volume in the game to 100%... otherwise you will miss some sound effects.

Then adjust your Windows 10 sound mixer to a level which you like in your headphones or speakers.

Has OP given Windows priority to adjust sounds or device levels? You can do that so when for example you get a TS transmission the sounds get muted or lowered a set %.

I raised volume with the Audio menu slider to about 20% and that setting stuck so sound is all is well now. Thanks! Can the sound level be accessed via config files and if so which one?

The in game volume should be kept at 100%. If it's lower than 100% then its been noted that certain sound effects are not heard at all. There is no ability to separate the loud engine from the relatively quiet voice commands etc. Some suggest it's quite realistic and if you've ever heard a warbird up close, or flown in one, one might agree.

Windows volume mixer is then used to drop the overall volume of Cliffs relative to Teamspeak for the best balance.

After years flying 1946 and Cliffs in headphones I now have the volume considerably lower since I have tinnitus with a constant high pitched hiss. Some days more noticeable than others, and especially right now because I've drawn attention to it ! Whether the result of playing guitar in bands for 30 years as a living or endless hours of Merlin engines for recreation it's here and I'm still doing both just a bit quieter. Well maybe not the guitar.
