Trek64Trek64 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Just picked up this HOTAS to replace my X55. I can't get IL2 Great Battles to recognize either the stick or the throttle. What is the solution? I tried the HOTAS with other flight sims, military and civilian, and it works like a dream. No matter what I do in INPUT Devices or Key Mapping nothing works. Help! Re-booting doesn't work. Plugging and unplugging and replugging doesn't work.
Sokol1 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Delete/rename the file "Devices.txt" in ...IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input
Trek64Trek64 Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) Thank you, Sokol1. I deleted that file. The sim now recognizes the flight stick. However, key-mapping does not work for some controls. Specifically, the hat switch on the stick. No matter how many times I program the hat switch under Camera Controls to look left, right, up and down it does not work. I have axis control with the flight stick and Fire All Guns, but that is all. What is the problem with the hat switch? It is driving me crazy. Edited July 22, 2020 by Trek64Trek64 new information
Sokol1 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) You need assign PoV HAT movement in "Pilot head". After you select the mode you want that PoV HAT work: incremental (Pan View* - best IMO), return to center... using F9 key in game. Can improve rear vision adding the same POV HAT movement, e.g. right for "translation" (slew head) - Rotate Camera up/down, left/right. * Pan View require set a button for reset view to center of panel. Trek64Trek64 Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 Thank you, Sokol1. You saved me! The hat view I wanted was the "snap" view, left, right, behind, forward which are under the Pilot head movement as you indicated.
