Acriax Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Yeah, I have no colors at all when in game. What's weirder is that I do have color in the menu. What's even weirder is that I ouldn't find anyone else in the world having this issue either according to google. I'm not sure when/why this started. I hadn't played for several months, and now when I did I saw that the game has mods support, so I quit the game and downloaded some mods (but only ones that touch textures). I disabled the mods again (using JSGME) but it still was the same. Not using Reshade or anything like that.
Thad Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Some mods actually change game files and are NOT replaced with originals when a mod is deactivated. ?
1CGS -DED-Rapidus Posted July 22, 2020 1CGS Posted July 22, 2020 @Acriax, Give a list of mods that you installed please.
Acriax Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) The ones i installed were: 4K cockpits for Great Battles WWII Planes More realistic clouds 4K damage decals Draw Distance Ship and smokes Dynamic Warzone - No Water Units New Effects v3 Better Rain Wobbly Tracers Kuban Texture Mod Stalingrad Texture Mod I used "verify integrity of installed files" in steam after removing them all, but nope, no dice. ? Update: Okay, when I unchecked "Enable Mods" in the options menu and restarted, I got color back in-game! Now I can play like this, but that's a shame, I really wanted to boost the graphics and audio a bit with mods. Edited July 22, 2020 by Acriax
Acriax Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) Have been messing about with the startup.cfg and similar files for way too long today, but still haven't found a fix for this... All I can guess is that it's some faulty pirate protection annoyance thing that thinks the game is cracked when I set mods to be enabled. Any dev here to confirm if that's a thing for this game? It seems too deliberate to just be some corrupted file. But then again there ought to be pirates posting about that on various forums on google, but I can't find anyone talking about this game turning black and white. I just don't know what to do. Here's a screenshot straight from the game with mods enabled but no mods installed: Edited July 22, 2020 by Acriax
THERION Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Well, I was just thinking about the mods, you have listed above. I don't remember which one it was, but there is a file used for it. This file is working properly without "Mods on/off", but is actually an unpacked file and therefore normally not visible in the standard installation (unmodded game). Please, look up for the file called "gpresets.cfg", which you may find in the folder called "\data\luascripts" in your game's folder. Delete this file. 1

I opened it up and saw that there was a line with "saturation = 0.0" for some reason. I renamed the file and now it works like a charm! Modded BOS here we goooo!
