Dravan Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 Love the Game so far. Didn't even know this game existed until i saw a Youtube video about that showed the Top 5 Combat Simulators. I found this site finally and love WWi & WWII simulators! I'm not very good mind you, so i ask is there a Tutorial? Or is it a live and learn scenerio? Though i have leanr a few things just from popping the Auto pilot on and watching how it deals with strafing and the like. getting better at not falling into a spin every time though. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. 2

There's also the "Multiplayer Aircraft Guide — Flying Circus Edition" by Bender & Trupo near the end of the Aircraft Guides section. There are sections from the WWI-oriented "LIBERATOR's High-Flying Tutorials" in a few places in the resources post. Edited July 20, 2020 by JimTM 1
Zooropa_Fly Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 ww1 crates aren't too taxing on the brain to fly - it's just practice practice practice ! The bots will do you for some time, but you need to fight humans to get beyond a certain skill level. There's a few servers with small maps - one called 'a zoo wings server' which has lots of bots for practice, and is way more fun than Quick Missions. Good luck, S! 1 1
BMA_Hellbender Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 A word of caution about multiplayer: TAKE THIS https://discord.gg/8r5q7u It's a very unforgiving game for newcomers and not really designed around flying alone unless you have gained some experience. You will find plenty of people willing to help you out on Discord. 1
76SQN-FatherTed Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 I'll give some boring advice - learn to fly before you start to learn to fly and fight. I don't mean to sound patronising, it's just that one of the beauties of this sim is that the planes have individual character and understanding those prior to trying to shoot things down (or avoid getting shot down) will save a lot of frustration. 1 1

Highly recommended. When do I get paid Zoo?
J37_Daedallus Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Salute and welcome to the game Jasta 5 has a training server just for beginners (Flying Circus Flugpark II), it's got airstarts and airfields for both sides, and once you get comfortable, you'll have other beginners to fight with, using either icons on or off by your choice. I would also recommend Zoo's server where you will meet friendly pilots of different skill levels cheers 1 1

Dravan Posted July 27, 2020 Author Posted July 27, 2020 I appreciate the replies everyone. I see the community here is helpful and that's a plus! Love the WWi and WWII flight sims, just didn't realize it was going to be this technical, but it is awesome! I was raised on Aces over europe and aces of the pacific. Red Baron Red Baron 3d etc .. way back in the day... hoping I can get a little better at this so my whole enjoyment isn't " Ok, I didn't die this time at least!" lol On 7/20/2020 at 1:22 PM, =CfC=FatherTed said: I'll give some boring advice - learn to fly before you start to learn to fly and fight. Yeah that's what i am looking to do. I have never played a simulator like this with engine coolant and all the bells and whistles. I agree 100% I have been playing offline trying to get the flying down. I have at least stopped just falling into uncontrolable spins every time i turn to engage... so i am learning slowely..lol On 7/20/2020 at 5:41 AM, Zooropa_Fly said: ww1 crates aren't too taxing on the brain to fly - it's just practice practice practice ! I got on the server no ones on it at the moment though 1 quick question, how badly does ping effect online game play?

Will cause lag if ping is to high, If it's really high you may get kicked or just cause a lot of lag to anyone close by. Do you have high ping? Look for a server closest to you.
