Edit Factory GTP Campaign as mission file - HOW?

Mission Editor Q:

 

Unpacked Campaigns.gtp to isolate a campaign mission, for some editing and changes.

 

Now there is no *.msnbin or *.mission file in the named campaign folder, largest file is a numbered *.cmpbin file, but the editor will not load it.

 

Any loading tricks or tips for conversion? reload/resave doesn't work alas.

What does a .gtp file have to do with opening a campaign? 

Are you trying to access encoded scripted campaign files that way to edit them? That won't work.

Pity, some things in such a campaign are just not to my liking ...

f.i Albert's Life is accessible, i changed a few things in some mission, and IMO it is more fun playing it.

 

One of those i cannot access really needs some added stuff like a change of plane load out, landing lights, a searchlight, camera view points, and i can't do anything about it.

I stopped playing it because of that. Feels like unfinished business and less fun. I wouldn't have bought it if i knew beforehand it was locked.
