How to read the Intel reports and maps?

I've just started looking into the Intel reports.

The reports has some units in red which I know are depleted resource units. How exactly does this affect them in game?

The map seems to show what units (and planes) are at each airfield. Does this help? Should I plan patrol missions over things I want to try to take out (fighters/bombers/transports)?

How should I read the depots? It seems like the enemies (for me the Germans) have only 1-2 bombers, fighters, or dive bombers in the depot. Does this mean that i've shot down to many enemies (I am using  unlimited ammo but try to limit it to 1-1.5 actually cycles of ammo before breaking off).

I'm trying to figure out how to use the various features of this killer mod!

It's informational.  Depleted units cannot fly.  Things happen outside of missions and excessive depletion has been reported on the Bodenplatte map.  I have done something to improve the situation that will be out this weekend.  If you see a lot of depleted units then maybe scrub fighter missions and wait for a ground attack.

I would not change the patrol route.  Missions are routed to an area of activity so such a change will decrease the odds of contact.

A lot if the information is just that - information.  It is intended to make you feel like part of something and to give you a glimpse of your campaign world at a point in time.

Plus you can see where the historical aces are stationed on the intel map...I have always enjoyed that little tidbit.
