Servers greyed out, can't join but not running any mods

Hi - don't know whether this is graphic bug or a multiplayer one, but after this weeks patch I'm getting an error with a lot of servers greyed out and the message that can't connect as using graphics mods.

 

Only trouble is I haven't got any mods installed. Only change in my install in the past week was a custom skin pack installed for an ItalianWings BoB41 scenario. Have removed that and still no joy.

 

I've tried hitting Mods on/off in the launcher and in the in-game settings to see if that works - but still no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't think it has to do something with mods, but rather with any of the shader enhancement tools like Reshade. Do you use Reshade

with your game installation? If so, you will have problems connecting to MP servers, because nearly all of them have banned Reshade

or the like. This is because some guys exploit the Reshade options to an extend so they have a huge spotting advantage over others
flying without Reshade and running the game in vanilla mode.

 

So, if you have Reshade installed, you need to remove it or you won't be able to connect to MP servers.

Nope - no Reshade or graphics mods installed. Been getting into servers like Finnish Pilots fine before this year - now can't.

Ever had reshade in there? You may have residual files from it or a previously installed mod from long ago. Remember reshade installs files outside of the reshade folder in there...dxgi.dll etc.

Nope - no reshade. Tried deleting the contents of update folder and forcing it to do a registry check. I've also gone into startup.cfg and checked modes=0 and that appears to be fine. )I'm on standalone here)

 

Still no joy.

 

As I say - only change I have made to my set-up in past week is a installing a custom SpitVb skin pack and ticking the 'use custom skins' button. 

 

Very annoying! 

 

Only thing I can think of is I'm running OpenComposite to get rid of the silly Chaperone ring in Steam VR with a Rift.

 

Possible the last patch now sees that as a graphics mod?

OK think I've found it. After some digging & searching there seemed to be some residual 3DMiGmoto files left over. Think I tried it once and then deleted it.

 

Odd as I've been able to see all servers fine before Monday's patch.
