Is there a way to switch on interior light only...?

Is there a way to switch on interior light without switching on the crosshair lights or backlights? I am pretty sure you need interior light also on day time, not only in the night.

I know that, but that is not what I mean. Press L for background light (instument panel and crosshair) and L again for interior lights. It only works in that sequence. I simply cant use interior lights without background light.
I can switch it on and off when i am the gunner again and use the sights, but i would be nice if that is handled separately. Immersion is everything IMO ? and in that way it is not. Unless I overlooked something.
