1CGS -DED-Rapidus Posted July 15, 2020 1CGS Posted July 15, 2020 @Gunnycook, thank you, I will check, after the hotfix camera shake appeared?
=JFC=Danger13 Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 i think either the hotfix or the patch, i played 2 weeks ago and it was ok, dont think i got the chance to fly on the last patch before the hotfix I actually thought it might have something to do with that new driver that steamVR uses now, the XR one. but cant seem to roll back out of it to try that.
=JFC=Danger13 Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 Just did a re install of il2.... still the same. Quaking in VR. its ok in 2D.
[-=BP=-]Slegawsky_VR Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 If you use SteamVR and WMR for steam usually reinstalling those and w CCleaner help with most issues. General troubleshooting like cables and connections could help.
=JFC=Danger13 Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 (edited) Dont know what else to try. Re installed oculus(not the issue as all my other VR games are stable), steam vr and il2. Tried with and without OTT and/or debug tool. Set all to default. Set all on high. Checked cables Run CCleaner. Experimented with various settings. Edited July 15, 2020 by Gunnycook type error
=JFC=Danger13 Posted July 15, 2020 Author Posted July 15, 2020 I did some more research and found out that i can run steam games without steamVR running with this opencomposite program. Tried that and the game works with no quaking. This leads me to believe that the issue is with the openXR driver that steamVR has started using. i am testing the composit program with OTT and it seems ok, had a coupe of weird bright flashes but i did have pixel count at 2.5.
1CGS -DED-Rapidus Posted July 16, 2020 1CGS Posted July 16, 2020 @Gunnycook, what is the open composite program?
Pennix_LeGaulois Posted July 16, 2020 Posted July 16, 2020 I believe Gunnycook is talking about OpenComposite. It is used to bypass some of steam vr when using an oculus headset. (It replaces the openvr_api.dll in the game folder). It usually helps with performances by reducing frame times. (It was a significant improvement over steamvr prior to V4.00x of the game, I still use it and didn't compare performances with latest versions of both the game and steamvr).

Yes, thats it, its bypassed steam and stopped the quaking in vr, when i go back onto steamVR to fly il2, the quaking returns.
