Algy-Lacey Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Hello there, I have run out of space on my SSD hard drive, it is just 120Gb. I now cannot download the update to IL-2 as there is no space to download it to. I have checked the size of the IL-2 directory... and it's a whopping 76 Gigabytes! Should it be this large? Thanks, Algy-Lacey
Zeev Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 It should be aprox. 60~ GB (My folder weights 65 with additional content). I mostly buy SSDs on black fridays, each year you have new sales with higher capacity. Nowdays 120 SSD costs very cheap, I would wait for hardware sale and buy at least 1 TB. 1
dburne Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Seems a little big. Mine is 37.6 GB. Also remember know matter what you actually own, you still get the full game downloaded. Check your date folders to see what all is in there. 1

I haven't downloaded any additional content, just the 1 bare metal spitfire skin Today I'm gonna buy myself another SSD... There's a 480Gb Sandisk one for £56.99 on amazon, should last me a while, then I'll probably do a fresh install, just to be sure. Thanks for the responses guys Algy-Lacey
40plus Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Don't forget recorded tracks. If you're in the habit of hitting the record button they add up quickly. I have 3GB of them and I rarely use it. 1
Irishratticus72 Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 My install is exactly 42 gig, with all 4 Battles, about 24 campaigns, and a good number of 4k skins. And all but 2 collector planes.

NachtJaeger110 Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 delete all files in update folder except last update? 1
SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 My install is 38 GB as standard with no mods and no tracks

I've got a feeling this might be the answer, thanks! Just checked and the updates folder alone is 42 Gb! I'll delete all but the most recent update and see how I get on. I haven't recorded any tracks. Thanks again, Algy-Lacey
