Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a replacement hat clip for trackir in Europe (it seems the only stores selling are Canada or US based), or any replacement contraption that works with the trackir.

NaturalPoint TrackClip Pro:  https://www.flightsimwebshop.com/en/naturalpoint-trackclip-pro.html

(They do not have the ' VectorClip' available as a separate purchase ... )

Check the dealers page at Naturalpoint.com:  http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/dealers/

Thank you both.

You can also use the UTC Mk. II wireless device. I use it since 2019 and it´s really good:

Ask the polish manufacturer by e-mail if he has it on stock.

I can save you some time—he recently commented in the DCS forums that he doesn’t have any in stock and doesn’t currently have any plans to produce more.

You can always find alternative trackers on Ebay

I use this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-LED-Clip-for-Head-Tracking-for-TrackIR-TrackClip-Pro-Opentrack-Delan/113857690709?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l46252

works well, although I did originally pick it up for £60, price does look like its shot up since covid.

Apart from the new pricing it works really well. Really is what Natural Point should have developed.

No it really isn't, not least because the TrackIR camera provides its own light source, which would need only reflectors on the clip, not LEDs and a battery.  I can't believe anyone would pay a price of that magnitude.  I'm surprised the makers can stop laughing for long enough to pack it into a box.

I think what he means is that TrackIR should have developed the wireless option years ago. Like many others I have a wire dangling from my wireless headphones because of it. Kind of defeats the object of the headphones.

Here's why TrackIR recommend the LED clip rather than the old reflectors:

The big advantage to the TrackClip Pro is the use of active LEDs (instead of the standard reflectors), making the system even more accurate, and giving it a reach of 1.5 metres (5 feet).

Now I've not noticed as to whether the range is better or not, but the LEDs have given me much better head tracking, especially in daylight conditions where before the camera on my TrackIR 4 would pick up all sorts of odd light sources. I would not go back to a reflector set-up; I've had the TrackClip Pro for many years and it is worth every penny it cost me. And when it eventually breaks I shall get a wireless one, assuming that enterprising folk are still making them. Or make my own. But definitely wireless and definitely an LED version.

Same here. I use the Delanclip with my TrackIR5 camera and have zero problems. It's nice to have one less wire getting in the way.
