Can't access Command Menu

Good folks,

I haven't been able to access the Command Menu via the tilde key.  I checked settings, tried various key combinations with the tilde key - all to no avail?  I only have TC so no competing flight commands an issue.  Any suggestions appreciated!

Check your key mapping assignments and verify the Command Menu is set to the “~” Tilde Key.

Key mapping shows the Command Menu assigned to the tilde key; still no joy.

I would also add that the tilde key did work some time ago (early in the year) but I hadn't used it for some time.  Last few times to call up the Command Menu unsuccessful.  COVID-19 at work here? ?

Are the commands tied to being in a specific crew station in the tank when attempting to use? Try from the Tank Commander position:salute:

A really silly question here. If you open notepad in windows on your PC. Does the tilde character turn up when you press it?

I want to know if your specific key is broken or something has slipped underneath the key and os stopping it from depressing.

Another possibility is that you somehow have the wrong keyboard type for your country installed.

First of all, thanks for the quick replies and great suggestions.  Tilde does work when I make a Word document.  The Command Menu will not open via the Tilde key in any tank crew position or in any of the tanks I have tried so far (three or four).  I've attached a screenshot of my key mapping page to help determine if anything is obviously amiss.

If your sure that you have tried to call up the command menu from the commanders position. Try using autopilot first by pressing the "A" key while your in the drivers position. Then go back to the commanders position and press the Tilde key.

That worked!  Thank you!  I don't remember previously having to press "A" to get the Tilde key to bring up the Command Menu.  Do you happen to know if this was a (fairly) recent change with the updates?  In any event, thanks for all for the help.

Makes sense. So to give orders you must first hand control of the tank to the AI. But dont you need the command menu for other tanks and units even if you are controlling your tanks positions personally?

Yes I think this must be a change just since the last update because I was able to access the command menu without using autopilot before the update. I haven't tried it recently though so I am assuming that it no longer works as you are mentioning.

I think I just figured out what we were doing wrong. There was no change actually.

If you are in a quick mission with just your tank. In order to call up the command menu so you can use it to direct your crew, you must start autopilot from the drivers position and then press tilde from the commanders position like we discussed.

But if you are in a quick mission platoon, then its up to you if you want to start autopilot or not. In this mode, you have the option to control your tank by yourself and just give orders to your platoon using the Tilde key from the commanders position, or you can start autopilot and give orders to both your crew and the platoon.

Works both way which is pretty cool! ?
