Zoom in 4.008

ZOOM stopped to work? (VR)

 

For me " Num + / - " stopped to work with Today's patch in VR mode.

Did You notice it?

There was a new zoom feature introduced in last patch. Did you have that working before now? If not you may just have to bind some controls.

For me worked in VR "Num +/-" in the last patch also and worked perfect, ok I'll check it again. Thx.

No, zoom doesnt work in VR, someone have the same problem?

I have the different levels of VR zoom assigned to a hat on my HOTAS, still working just fine for me in 4.008.

Thx for the tip, I checked this predefined controls for zoom (RCtrl+Num 0-3) and it works in VR fortunately .

I am about to take a flight in VR for the first time in a while (I had to install a new SSD and transfer my game over) and I'm not sure how the new zoom with it's different levels works in practice?

 

1) Is it the same as the old zoom? In that, you press a button to zoom in, let go of the button and it zooms back out automatically?

 

2) Why the different levels of zoom? Does this mean you have to assign a different button for each level of zoom?

 

3) Or can you map two buttons, one to incrementally zoom in, one to incrementally zoom out? What is this binding called, in game settings?

 

 

Is it possible to have the zoom work the same as before the update? Press button to zoom in / release button to zoom back out? Again, what is this binding called, in game settings?

2) Why the different levels of zoom? Does this mean you have to assign a different button for each level of zoom? Since they got rid of Migoto3d's zoom, the standard 2x zoom is not sufficient for an even playing field (VR vs 2D), highest zoom level now gives the same FOV as max zoom in 2D.

What is this binding called, in game settings? You would need 3rd party software to setup the bind like that, like autohotkey or JoyToKey. Quick zoom in Pilot Head controls section of key bindings.

Yup I believe it would be "level 1"

It is in Quick Zoom in the settings. In Pilot Head Control category.

5 levels of zoom that can be programmed to 5 buttons if one wishes. 

Press the button and hold for zoom, release and it goes back to default head position.

 

1: Quick  Zoom Min

2:  Quick Zoom Level 1

3:  Quick Zoom Level 2

4: Quick Zoom Level 3

5:  Quick Zoom Max.

 

I have mine assigned to the hat on the side of my Warthog throttle, 4 way plus push.
