Is it possible to make a pair of CH pedals that have a serial port work?  Amazon has adapters, but will they work in the IL2 series of games?  I can get a good deal on a pair, but don't want to waste cash.  Thanks!

I was using some old CH Gameport pedals until a few months ago, combined with a "ROCKFIRE Gameport to USB adapter", which I bought from either Ebay or Amazon, I don't remember.

It worked fine for rudder, but only one toe brake worked, which I read was a result of not having the CH yoke stick that the pedals are supposed to plug in to.

Tbh, I would save a little more money and buy some Thrusmaster TFRP rudder pedals. The precision is 4x better (1024 vs 256 data points) and it's quite noticeable in fine aiming adjustments. Both toe brakes work too ! I picked up a nearly new set on Ebay for 50 Euros and I'm happy with them.

The other more expensive rudder pedals are "nice to have", but not really necessary.

Serial port ? 9 or 25 pin ? Or a game port (15 pin) ? For a game port, there might still exist a USB - game port adapter. I had a couple of these 15 yrs ago..

If you will buy and Gameport (DB-15) to USB adapter, get only the model mentioned above  "ROCKFIRE Gameport to USB adapter".

Other option is use an cheap ~$5 Arduino PRO Micro (16 Mhz, 5v) flashed with MMjoy2 firmware what converter this pedal for USB, through make some wire solders.

I made a thread on how I converted my serial port pedals to USB:

All the details of what you need are contained in there so please have a read, if you are so inclined.

It really is cheap and easy to do and if I can do it there is no reason why anyone else can't.
