Ship Skins

Is there a way to access or alter ship skins.

Now that we can have ships that are ashore (I tested it and it works fine, nice for the sub that is rolled on the side ? ), I would like to modify the skins so that as to make them looked as damaged or rotten.

Unfortunately the damage model is not good for that and ships try to sink in the sand but as they cannot do it they start trembling as the try to sink in the sand and are pushed back on the surface.
