Hi,

I've got an Evga Geforce GTX 1070 and get jumpy graphics at times as I play.  Things like trying to line up a shot and having the screen "blip" and the target has moved enough that I don't get the shot.  This obviously happens at other times.  Do I need a better card?  I'd prefer to have decently high graphics settings.

What display resolution and settings are you using?

What other components do you have in your computer?

Below 4K, the 1070 should perform just fine and achieve 60 frames per second most of the time with high settings.

What he said.

A 1070 should do really well at 1080P. I used to have a 1060 3GB and the game was still playable and smooth and looked great if the settings were managed.

If you can, post a screenshot of your in-game settings and the settings for the Nvidia Control Panel. There are a few settings that can be problematic for stuttering.

This is the in-game video settings.  There are quite a few choices on the Nvidia control panel tree.  Which of those will be helpful?

And thanks!

Those game settings seem reasonable.

You should try default Nvidia settings before adjusting anything.

What exactly is the performance problem you are experiencing? Is the in-game FPS counter showing low frame rates? Perhaps screen tearing?

Unless the rest of your system is weak, i.e., slow CPU or insufficient RAM, I don't see any reason for poor performance. The 1070 will handle maximum settings at 1080p.

It would be helpful to know about the other components in your system.

I built this PC a year or so ago - I think.  I'll list the CPU an memory first because I'm guessing those are the most important.

The CPU is an Intel i9-9900K running at 3.60 GHs

The memory is 16GB; I'll post the printscreen from the task manager.

I'm guessing my system has what it needs to run well, but as I play (and now that I think of it, I might only have this problem in Rise of Flight) the screen jumps around a bit.  One example is trying to line up a shot and having the screen glitch so that the target jumps past my sights.

As I continue with Flying Circus and maybe other newer Add-ons I'll update information about whether or not I'm having the problem there as well.  It's a little hard for me to remember for sure if it's just ROF or it's both because they seem so similar.

Try turning off 4K textures, that helps some people with stutters. With a 1070 you should be crushing 1080p resolution easily with those settings.

You have enough computer power to run FC butter smooth at that resolution.

You could get more performance from a CPU overclock, but even at stock, 9900k+1070+16GB of ram should give you a very good performance.

Overclock thar 9900k to be sure, staying at 3.6 Is a waste of potential

Gotcha.  Thanks, seems like a good idea.
