Tycoon Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 (edited) A while ago I tried a tip I heard about lowering screen resolution to improve spotting, I tried it and sure enough, not only is it better it's like having early warning radar, anyways I'm curious if there is a way to go lower than what's allowed in the menu just to see what it's like, is there a config you can edit for this? I don't want to damage my screen or anything though. thx Edited July 6, 2020 by Tycoon

Though dunno what would happen when entering some incompatible values in them. Just back up your current one and you can revert the changes after your test. Edited July 6, 2020 by Oliver88

It's actually why I don't play much ww2 anymore, the low resolution setting advantage is too massive for me personally to do without, but on the other side it's like you're playing the original red baron, no win situation. ? 11 minutes ago, jollyjack said: Maybe lower the Voltage to keep your monitor safe? I'm not sure if you're joking or not, how do you lower voltage? Edited July 6, 2020 by Tycoon
jollyjack Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 sorry, i was joking, but why in places do you want to go back to the 90-ies?

Spotting improves drastically the lower the resolution, I was surprised when I found out about it that it wasn't more well known here. Unfortunately I just found out dcs has the exact same problem as well. Edited July 6, 2020 by Tycoon
jollyjack Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Talking about spotter settings in the ME advanced (plane) property settings, i never really understood what's the use, Other than displaying a circle on the pilot's map. Spotting above is a game view experience, i saw some mod addressing that. but never got to try them out.

jollyjack Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 As said the red circles on the pilot in game map i think is the only use. Not the little dots on the monitor ...
