I'm mixing multiplayer mode with career mode in the game. I want to ask community which setting is the most used in career.

Please select topmost answer, which match your game style.
Thank you.

I use moderate density and difficulty. I would play on hard (for both) but I expierenced significant performance drops  in Kuban and Bodenplatte with those settigs and decided to use moderate instead to keep it playable ?

I've started playing on hard difficulty with "dense" density.
I found that when you are attacking ground objects on this difficulty settings, AAA is really precise at this setting and if wing is being spread over the target area, there is very high chance to be shot down, which makes career unplayable in IronMan mode.
I never got over 10 missions as an attacker.

QMB, teaching myself the full mission builder and considering diving into some of the existing scripted campaigns...

Ironman mode only, difficulty and density changing through the playthrough depending on the career period to better suit the historical situation.

I never finished a full campaign on my settings: Hard and IronMan. The closest I got (percentage-wise) is when flying Yak-1 in Kuban theatre. It is an "easy mode", relatively speaking of course, due to Yak's superior turning ability and excellent rear visibility. However, I still dread going back, unless I am in tiptop mental and physical shape. One lucky bullet is all it takes, but I would like to finish such a career for once.

I adjust it based on the theater of operations to what I think would be the most realistic. For example in Bodenplatte playing for the Allies I would have easy and Dense but for the Germans I would have hard and dense.  For the Russian theaters I would have moderate and moderate, however I find these settings to be very restrictive, I would love to see more options(ground target density, AAA skill level, AI skill level, probability of intercept,etc..). Often I find myself flying the same exact mission over and over again especially in Bodenplatte encountering the same number of enemy aircraft over the same city mission after mission.

Usually playing in PWCG, which simply has many advantages over the game's career mode, one of them being, that there is no all AI is completely dumb or ace, but has different skills depending on the rank.

But when I start a career in the game's career mode, I use the medium density, as my computer is not able to handle dense, and the difficulty according to the time, so starting Moscow career on German side, difficulty easy, until winter offensive of the Soviet army, then the medium difficulty until Bodenplatte (in future Normandy), then hard difficulty.

But fortunately I usually don't have to chose, Pat is doing this for me.:good:

Hard, not IronMan..currently in D9, March 1945. Since I changed from Moderate to Hard I see more enemy aircraft, not more skilled pilots.I’ve downed 8 P47s / sortie at several occasions lately which seems a bit odd.

Yes, I can confirm that, P 47s still are flying in 'easy prey' mode. I had no issues with them flying the A8.

Sorry for the topic "resurrection", personnally I like to play hard/ironman mode, with medium density. I think it works pretty well. I love trying to survive against odds when the plane is badly damaged or in fire and you need to bail out trying to get to the right side of the border, and I have no issue starting from 0 when my "pilot" doesn't make it. Really makes career mode more fun imho.

Yes...those are my exact settings for all the same reasons.  My current stock career Ironman pilot is a P-51 jockey with 21 victories, and I have to admit I enjoy seeing his name in the newspaper. :)

Also, if you enjoy that kind of flying, you should consider joining the "Ace of Aces" PWCG Challenge discussed in the thread below.  It would be great to have another "Ironman" aboard:
