Does anyone else find the throttle response in the mid-range on the 109K-4 a bit weird and sluggish? I struggle to get it stable in the 1.2 to 1.3 ATA range. It seems tiny changes in throttle position around this point make a huge difference in ATA and the response is slow (uncharacteristic for a 109), so I try my best to set it in this range then I look back 30 seconds later and it's either crept up towards 1.4 or sunk down towards 1.15. Doesn't seem to be dependent on speed or altitude.

The 109 k4 is the only 109 where I use RPM to set speeds and not ATA. It helps a lot. Cruise at 2300-2400 RPM. Combat up to 2600 RPM and full throttle for emergency after that.

Maybe that explains why on the K-4 instrument panel the RPM indicator is now above the ATA indicator and easier to read without looking too far down, while in the G series it's opposite.

You can still fly with ata but the regimes have changed. You get a very gradual response between 1.35 and 1.6 ata or so. I sometimes fly with manual PP to able to cruise more easily at 1.2 ata.

Yup, the continuous and combat limits are higher but they are very wasteful of fuel and usually not necessary, so I try to cruise around 1.2 ata. I don't see the point of the gradual response going to 1.6, you are either 1.45 or max. It has a weird response curve for sure and not as accurate and responsive to quick changes like earlier 109s.

 

Manual PP, also nice suggestion, maybe I will try this too.

The 109 had a button to activate and deactivate the Mw50 so i think to add that on the game will improve the weird response of the K4. Is really difficult to change ata on cruise because is so sensitive that a small % makes a lot on the power setting

But the G-14 also has MW50 enabled all the time and does not have this problem at all.
