How to find a Wingman? [EU]

I'll get my Delanclip in a week or so and from then on I want to try my luck in MP but I was told flying alone is going to be a disaster. Are there casual Discord servers where people just fly together or how else could I find some people without commiting to forming a squadron? Thanks.

If you fly with full difficulty settings then you will most likely fly on a server called CombatBox. They have a discord, link should be on the website https://combatbox.net/

Try Air Attack Tactical Combat servers - there is a practise server where you have a mix of bots and real pilots. it great for learning the ropes. The bots take a lot of damage before crashing so you can really get your aim in and you have unlimited ammo. You don't need to be in a squad but we have a group of very friendly pilots, mainly US, UK, Canadian, who will help you out with anything game related. I assume you can pm me on here but will also see if I can publish our Discord server. We had a great time last night just 6 of us got together for some impromptu flying, all on comms, great fun and you, and anyone else, are welcome to fly with us, and if you enjoy it we are forming squads and will help with training and tactics - with a focus on having a great time.

Why on earth would flying alone be a "disaster"? Sounds like misguided or biased  virtual squadron talk to me.

 

I'm having a great time flying the various missions and campaigns that the good folks in the community have uploaded for us, or the IL-2 add-on campaigns, which are very good.

 

When I fancied a bit of a company and a change, I pop onto one of the servers listed and to date have always enjoyed it - no need to feel pressured into joining any outfit. In fact I made a few friends and flew with the same bunch of guys for a while before we went our separate ways again.
