How does the generator handled damaged enemy planes?

How does the game handle damaged enemy planes in a mission? I had a mission where I took down  one BF-110 and severely damaged another (leaking fuel from one engine and some smoke from the other). I pulled off to save ammo and gain altitude. How does the generator handle this plane? Is there a dice roll for if it makes it back to base or crashes? If so, is it out of commission for a bit? Are severely damaged planes sometimes "junked" and not repaired?

The logs tell the story.  If the plane crashes then that destruction will be in the logs.  The plane will be lost in the inventory in PWCG.  If the pilots are injured or killed that will also be recorded (AI is pretty good at belly landing planes so usually the bots are OK).

If you claim your damaged they will probably be awarded as victories as PWCG is pretty lenient.  The claim may be denied if the planes didn't crash and all of the other planes that did crash were clearly recorded as belonging to somebody else.  Most people do not put in for such claims and in that case the victory either is not awarded or is awarded to an AI flight mate.

Awarding the victory is awarded and documenting the loss of plane and crew are two totally different things.  The latter will happen even if the former does not.

The only thing, that is missing a bit, but I guess it simply would be very difficult to implement, is, damaged planes not being available for one or more days, until they are repaired, like with pilots, being in hospital, when they are wounded.
