Tomo_sco Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 I fancy giving this game a try but was wondering if someone could give me a little advise before I purchase I want to play using my oculus rift, should I purchase the game from the website or from steam, is it like other games such as Elite Dangerous where I get better performance from buying the non steam version. Thanks
dburne Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 Unless you are a fan of having all your games in the Steam Library, I would get directly from 1CGS. Now the game does not use the native Oculus software but does use Steam VR. So you will still need Steam to use Steam VR. But no need to have the game tied to Steam at all. Also being you have a Rift, you can also use an alternative to using Steam VR - Open Composite. It is a little leaner and meaner than Steam VR, and most folks including myself that use the Rift find it gives better performance. You can check it out here: https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/9nxixe/systemwide_installation_for_opencomposite_released/ 1
