Dear All,

If you are looking here for name calling and unpleasentries here, you are in the wrong place. The thread in question held my first posts on this forum, and it was quite an experience.

Firstly, I would like to say that no-one was ganging up to try and bully anyone out of any thread. OP did not "call his mates along". He asked us to check the thread out, it is also a subject I was interested in. I was watching the thread after the first couple of replies.

I am appalled by the comments made on the second page by both parties. The second parties original post may have come across differently to the way it was intended, however, There is no need for all of the name calling and getting one up on each other. I made no negative comments on the post, and was trying to reply to individuals respectfully, as it is a topic I am generally interested in, but it was being spoiled by certain individuals who just couldn't seem to call it quits.

Please do not take future post as an opportunity to further argue with each other, I know the guys from my squad really well, and they are some of the nicest I have ever met, their words here are making the squadron be seen in a dim light, before the game is even released. I have never met the second party before, but I thought that someone with as many posts as him would be able to realise when a thread is spinning out of control and start ignoring it, and also that you would have the sense to not reply in a negative way, it doesn't set a good example for newcomers like myself. Neither parties are doing themselves favor's in the public eye.

It is often the case (For me in the past anyway), that I have gotten into some big disagreements with individuals, however, after speaking (un-knowingly) to them on teamspeak at a later date, I realised that they are actually nice people, and that it's impossible to put the emotion into text chat that you hear in your voice, and therefore forum posts are easily mis-interpreted.

I suggest that both parties cease the unpleasantness and leave future posts to people such as myself who are genuinely interested in the subject at hand, and people's opinions that challenge our own belief's and in turn help us gain the knowledge that we simply cannot find in the Developer's Blog. That is (For me anyway) what being a forum member should be all about.

I have had disagreements with folks on forums plenty of times over the past 14 years.. I have only met a handful of bonafide jerks on line though.. Like Simon said.. one of the problems with the internet is things often get lost in translation .. that is what emoticons are for .. and text altering tools like bold and italics ... to help add that extra something that is missing because you can't see a person's face .. In any case I imagine the thread in question is already locked.. and the issue is done with. Therefore....

On that note...
