That scheduling is supposed to improve things, but how much is yet to be seen. AMD has not yet released a driver for DirectX 12 Ultimate.

Yea, I’m wondering what effect it truly has. Interested to see what results people have with this.

I gave it a quick test w/IL2 and I found I got more stuttering with it on. Nothing scientific, just an initial observation. Some reports around the web say it works, others say it doesn't. Will probably take another look at it in a few days. The driver itself is fine, nothing really new to report there.

I can’t tell much of a difference at this point either. Just curious. Thanks.

Just tried it and certainly in VR it's definitely smoother.

Looking at my frame rates getting a solid 80 on my Rift S

When I get a chance I'll try DCS as that is the usual killer...?

Hi dburne,

If v. 2004   is not yet available via Windows Update in your region, you can download it from this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Cheers!

Ok thanks much. In my regular update center it says it is on it's way but my PC is not quite ready yet.

I may get brave and try it in a day or two.

Be careful, if it says your PC is not quite ready, it could be due to driver issues. Just make sure you have a good image of your current system just in case.

Yeah the more I think about it, the more I think I should probably wait. I do tend to keep all my drivers updated though.

I'm seeing 10c cooler temps on my 1080ti setup and much smoother performance in a number of games.

451.48 Benchmarks

Except for one case (Batman) of stutters and worse performance, nothing benchmarked as much of an improvement.  Increase of 2 FPS at best.

Unless you do back to back comparisons, its pretty hard to tell.  Mostly psychological I'd say.  If NV actually improved the FPS much, they'd be screaming from the rooftops about it.

As it seems another snake oil product from the MS Windows oil company, as we did have ready boost, Windows game mode and now the Windows hardware accelerator.

Be careful with Win 10 v2004 update as many had performance issues in other games and some other annoying bugs. I couldnt restart my PC after the update so I reverted back to v1009 and all is good again. IL2 works great now so why taking any risks? Microsoft also noted that there are bugs in this update but I dont know if they released the hotfix already.

Read some MS blogs about this new feature. Basically at the moment it is just the foundation now on which things can done in the future, offering very small to no gains.

With my 1080Ti/Reverb combo, I experienced the same:  heavy stuttering with the [HW accelerated GPU scheduling] setting enabled, in both multiplayer and single player scenarios.  The strange thing is that I had the WMR reprojection status overlay displayed and it kept showing constant green (as if there were no bottlenecks in CPU or GPU rendering).

Disabling it restored smooth gameplay. I guess it is as they say "your mileage may vary"...

Due problems with windows pro 64bit in the last 6 months, each time appeared after some f* windows update i switched all my 2 PCs and laptop to windows LTSC.

(Had one already on LTSB but that did not work for NVIDIA drivers). Just installed 451.67, runs fine with IL2 so far.
