Will there be a Fw190 offline campaign, so that it might be worth the extra 30 dollars for the premium edition?

You should google 190 and stalingrad, that will give you an idea of how much it was used.

I'm near 100% sure that someone will create a worthwhile campaign for it, but don't expect it to happen at launch. There is always MP though.

You'll be able to fly FW 190 in the offline campaign. Since this aircraft didn't take part in the Battle of Stalingrad, it won’t be available in any regiment – only you (and possibly your AI squad mates) will be able to fly FW.

Basically, we chose it for the following reasons: “this plane could be there, it was capable to fight in these circumstances and combat situation, thus the FW-190 is by all means a machine of that period”. This also goes for the early La-5. And we decided to make both planes because in some ways they depict the technical progress of the BOS era and they should be interesting to so many players. BUT since we refuse to misrepresent the history, we made them only available in the Premium pre-order edition.

Very good, but one thing: the La-5 was at Stalingrad in the latter stages of the battle, such as those that were with 3rd Guards IAP.

I honestly can't believe how much people here know about what planes were with which regiment at what time in which theatre. I just like watching planes shoot each other.

That is because some people are interested in history as well as gaming.

Like those people you see in their cars at the beaches, waiting to run over the German invasion force...

I'm interested in history too, but it's just so impressive how some people here seem to know everything about the air war. I know a few regiments, like Jasta 11, JG2, 379th BG, 303 Squadron, and JG27, but I only know a little bit, and these guys seem to know all about every last one. No wonder they help with the development.

My knowledge developed slowly over time. It got especially detailed when I was doing campaigns for IL-2 1946 and I wanted to make sure that I selected the right squadrons, used the appropriate theater markings, etc. While this may not matter to everyone it does matter to some degree to most of us. Authenticity is important in a more serious simulation game... so I went full out researching squadrons, markings, notable pilots and day to day engagements to try and get things as right as possible. It's a bit obsessive but everyone needs a hobby and I'm not nearly as bad as some :D

If you really get into something you tend to want to know a little bit more each time until you know a scary amount of information about something fairly obscure. I have a friend who buys 2 or 3 busted up 10-15 year old cars and sells one fully repaired one from the pieces. He knows every part number and every detail of these cars. It's really quite amazing... so like I said, we all have a hobby :D

yesss sounds like we get to look forward to a Bf-110 dlc, nice.

Exactamundo; in fact you could say that games like BOS are bringing history to life - even if it means that a fw-190 or two took a wrong turn somewhere and wandered into Stalingrad airspace! Sure the fw-190 will be used for follow up maps as well.

I for one am super excited to fly the butcher bird over the skies of stalingrad! Anyone made any brief short winded assessments about the LA 5's flight model in game yet? Is it complete? I can't seem to figure out what it's best at...All I get is a flying turd :P

Never would've guessed from your avatar :P

I'm more of a 109 guy, but I can't wait to get my mits on the 190 :)

I would not be sad if the same logic were applied to the P-39.
