Question about commissioning skins

I know that selling skins is not allowed, but would it be okay to pay someone to make a custom skin and then I or they can put it on here for free?

Usually most members here put a request out in the relevant thread for something they want be that from a particular skin maker they like or for a specific aircraft, usually a artist will do most types rather than concentrate on a particular type or Air Force.

 

Some of those artists actually have a paypal account so that you can contribute a amount you feel appropriate into it to compensate them in some way for their time and efforts, others indicate you can contribute to web sites they might use specifically to promote their work or that they are members of.  Generally most ask nothing other than a nice comment on what they have kindly made available for free, some will do specific things on request but most will just make and post something they like and share it with the rest of us.
