Raven109 Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 (edited) Interesting video showcasing the Bf109 G5, with a pressurized cockpit. Note at the 05:13 mark, the filler port for the GM1 installation primer fuel filler: Edited June 15, 2020 by Raven109 1
Aurora_Stealth Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 Whoa, didn't realise there were any of those variants left! that airframe must be very rare. Hopefully they can tidy her up a bit and complete the restoration. Thanks for sharing.

Who knows, maybe someone will pick it up for a restoration. Some other interesting things: the additional pressure gauge next to the dual oil/water temperature gauge, which shows the cockpit pressure; the additional oxygen flow gauge next to the cockpit pressure gauge; the additional wall mounted on the cockpit "canopy", behind the pilot, to contain the pressure; the cockpit is missing the rubber sealant, which went along the rim of the "canopy", and which was specific to the G-3/G-5 pressurized cockpits; part of it seems to be there but it's very worn out; red landing gear legs, indicating a machine fit for using C3 fuel - probably taken from another 109; Edited June 14, 2020 by Raven109 1
