Kampfpilot_JG3 Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 (edited) FW190 D9 what does the red and white light indicate for the fuel gauge ? the white comes on first after a while followed by the red later what does that mean ? Does the D9 have a 10mn warning ? because i have'nt seen any . FW190 D3-5-8 do any have any gauge light alerts ? or is it always the 10 minute alert warning only ? i ask because i am getting the engine cut all the time and not quiet sure if i'm not noticing the 10mn alerts , does the 10mn warning come on only once ? SCG_ErwinP Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 (edited) If I'm correct, white light means half the total capacity of fuel tank, red one is a low fuel alert. All Anton have red light as well (low fuel alert) but now white one. You will see in A3 and A5 a switch showing both tanks of fuel (actually it's automaticaly switched). In A8 and D9 gauge shows full amount of fuel, so when it got half of fuel, gauge show "full tank" (half of total capacity of fuel tank). I will take pictures from game soon and edit this comment. I still learning english, i hope you understand. Edited June 13, 2020 by SCG_ErwinP

The A3 and A5 are not modelled correctly with the fuel consumption, the fuel pumps pumped fuel from both tanks, but as it was much more fuel than needed, the fuel, that was too much was going back to the front tank, which led to the front tank staying full until the rear tank was empty. So the fuel gauge should show the front fuel tank at max until the rear tank is empty, like it is modelled in the A8. From the A8 on there was this white light added, which showed the pilot there was only 10l left in the rear tank, so he knew he had to switch to the front tank. So I would guess that the A8 and later models did not pump from both tanks, like the earlier models. EDIT: The needle of the fuel gauge in the A8 starts going down not before the new third fuel tank behind the pilot is empty. EDIT 2: Of course the pilot in the A8 and following had to switch to fuel pump of the front tank, once the rear tank was empty, because it is not a good idea to run a fuel pump (or any else) dry. Bremspropeller Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 While discussing the tanks: Can the idication please change quicker? I have been shot down at least one, trying to figure out whether I was low on gas, or not. The gauge-change now takes too unneccessarily long.

ShamrockOneFive Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Yep, really hoping we'll have a push to check fuel level switch when they upgrade the fidelity to fuel systems in a future patch. It's an issue on the Spitfire as well.
Kampfpilot_JG3 Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 are you all getting the 10 mn low fuel warning for all 4 FW models ?

I hope so too but they warned us more than once that the fuel mgmt will be very high level and simplified, so I'm not sure will get to that level of detail. I expect the following to be included: 1) more advanced fuel tank damage ( fires/leaks) 2) drop tanks 3) ability to select which tank to use. 4) API ammunition. Anything else would be beyond my expectations.
Kampfpilot_JG3 Posted June 14, 2020 Author Posted June 14, 2020 (edited) the whole issue for me is weight management and speed enabling the best performance within a certain mission time frame without compromising the return to the closest base when the time comes . Edited June 14, 2020 by dog1
