VonMarts Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Friendly and enemy tanks disappear when I look sideways or back on my oculus rift cv1. Do game developers know about this bug? Have they answered? It's just that I love to play the tanks in VR but the other day online I passed an enemy tank beside me and I didn't even see it, I just heard it ... and destroying me was not pleasant after 15 minutes to reach that place. I really hope you get that part. I love the tanks but I'll have to take a break ...after trying the vr i can't go back to the track ir and 2d monitors. cheers. Please don´t spam this topic with sh....t
40plus Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Been that way for a while. Other complex rendered items such as smoke do the same thing. Objects disappear when you're not looking at them.
RedeyeStorm Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Always that way. You can see to the sides by swiping your mouse around. The mouse determines what you see. Very unplayable in VR because of it.
=IRFC=NakedSquirrel Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 I disabled the the mouse view controls and feel this has helped (at least with aircraft). I haven’t done much Tanking in VR Recently, but it might be something to try.

VonMarts Posted June 21, 2020 Author Posted June 21, 2020 (edited) I already solve! When I switch to the commander position outside OR INSIDE the tank, I need to press shift-t to see all the objects beside and behind me. Edited June 21, 2020 by VonMarts 1 2
zdog0331 Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 hmm. This doesn't seem to work for me, though that key-bind is nestle to gunsite so i imagine that it is a sort of glitch that actually helps you that doesn't seem to work for everybody.

It defiantly works for me. I don’t have to press shf t. It works right from the start for me.
VonMarts Posted July 3, 2020 Author Posted July 3, 2020 i use shif-t (if the binoculars move with your vr set your ok) in sherman i use shit-t and t. the order of keys you must see in tank (if with mouse the machine gun dont move your ok)

Not sure what the difference is between our settings. Will have to do some investigating. Is there anything other than nestle to gunsite that shift-t is bound to?
zdog0331 Posted July 9, 2020 Posted July 9, 2020 Alfight i figured it out. Apparently it was just regular unmodified T for me. So for some it may be sift T and others it may just be T
DD_Friar Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Found this issue last night and the suggestion of hitting T worked for me. i spawn in the panzer III g in the gunner position i jump to the commander. I know my team mate is behind me but I can not see him by moving my head to look through the windows at 12, 3,6 and 9 o'clock I open the hatch and turn my head, not the tank or turret. He is not there. I hit T and he pops into view. it seems anything outside of a 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock arc of the tank is not visible. A movement of the tank by as little as 1 degree can make the difference.
istari6 Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Yes, I literally just finished the Breaking Point campaign about 30 min ago and used this trick throughout. It's irritating in how it breaks immersion, but I bound "T" to my HOTAS and I fell into the habit of clicking it as I look around. Hopefully they'll fix it in the future, along with how many objects disappear when you zoom in on them in VR.
