Solitojorgesoo Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I first downloaded 1L2 Bodenplatte from the Il2 store, and afterwards IL2 Battle of Stalingrad from Steam.- When the last was installed, I was asked if I want to sync or merge (dont remember the exact term) both installs, which I did, and now I have the first install BOB file as IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles, and the last BOS within the Steam main file at: :\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad.- Both installs seems to be independent and have its own settings, mods, etc .- The Steam install contains now both BOB and BOS, so I dont know if it is necesary to keep the original sole BOB install.- Can I delete it without consequences ? Thanks
R3animate Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 You should be fine to delete it now that your accounts are linked. You can continue to use the steam install and in the future, if you want to buy addons you can still support the devs directly here and they'll show up in the steam version as well.
Solitojorgesoo Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 Thanks for you reply So any future addon I buy directly from the IL2 store should be linked to my actual steam install ? I guess the only diference is that from now I have to be always connected to internet each time I open the sim, which at my original BOB install wasnt necesary as it had and offline option.-

Correct, any future addons you buy will show up. As an example, I have BoS/BoM/BoK on steam but then bought BOBP and Flying Circus here. 2. Technically you had to be online to generate career missions if you were playing career anyway, but yes, the steam client would require you to be online. You can launch the game from Steam's offline mode though.
CybaGirl Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Hello, can someone please tell me the exact procedure how I can link my Steam Account to my Account on IL2? As I have have triedt to sign in option via Steam on the IL2 website but it is asking me to create a new account on IL2 so I am a little confused as to what I am doing wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
graythreat Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Try this. I did this years ago, and Joe it’s still relevant. There’s directions towards the bottom.
CybaGirl Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Thank you so very much for taking the time to reply and help me with this! So basically I have to download one of the games from my IL2 account that I have purchased, install it and then link my Steam account? Just curious though. Do you know what happens to the games I have purchased on Steam as well as my IL2 account? Thanks.
OutSider Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 Why does the store page say "This is a keyless non-Steam product." if I can add it to my steam account? How does that work if there's no key? Account should still be linked to steam. Would rather buy the DLC from you guys but am confused on the keyless non-steam part. I want it all together in Steam
CybaGirl Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 I could be wrong ?? But don't you add the Steam Key from within your Profile on IL2? To find your Steam Key. Right click on the game in your Steam library and click View key. Hope this helps.

I want it all together in Steam If you want it all on Steam (without linkage) you need to buy them all on Steam. If you want to link you need to buy BOS from Steam and then buy other content from the Official Webstore and link them. It's easy. Jason 21 minutes ago, CybaGirl said: I could be wrong ?? That is not how it works any more. We changed it a couple years ago. Thanks You don't need to do any of this. Just Link your BOS install in your Steam library with your IL-2 website User Account. The instructions have been posted above in this thread. You do not need to maintain two separate installs on your machine. Just need your Steam install to remain and do linkage. Jason

If you have it in steam, follow the link directions above. That should make the IL2 account speak to Steam. Then when you buy something here, it will be immediately accessible on steam. It appears that the key linking per game is a legacy thing.
CybaGirl Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Hello and sorry to be a pain. But I am having a bit of bother getting my accounts linked ?. I installed IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles launcher (version 4.007c) that I downloaded from the IL2 website and when I launched the program it did not ask me to link my Steam account. So obviously I am missing something here and was wondering if someone can please help me a little more? Thanks.
=BKHZ=Basha Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Same issue as CyberGirl, i have a ticket in about this but have a hunch that if i reinstall the game i may get the linkage option?
Jason_Williams Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Guys, I think you are misunderstanding the process. You buy and launch BOS from Steam to start the linkage process. Not from the web version. Steam version can talk to our database, but not the other way around. Jason 1
CybaGirl Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Thanks, just worked this out this morning when I woke up ?.
