=1488=PR0T0S Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 My little one is turning 7 in a few days. I bought him a Thrustmaster 16000m Hotas. He loves to fly with me on my lap, but right now its mostly firing the guns and 'crashing' he loves those explosions. I don't know a thing about arcarde games as I hopped directly to IL2 when I first started. Can someone recommend a fun and EASY flying game I can pick up for his birthday. Ability to fire guns a +
unlikely_spider Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Aerofly FS2 is a good light civilian flight sim. Easy to pick up and fly, can learn vfr if you want. No damage model, so it is very forgiving. Not combat, obviously. 1

=1488=PR0T0S Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 S~! Thank you Redwolf I will definitely check that out, looks just about right. Thanks to all for their suggestions. I am sure he will love exploring them.
19//Moach Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 Crimson Skies! An oldie, but it's never been satisfactorily replaced.... It still runs well enough on Windows 10, requiring only an easily downloadable patch and running it in XP compatibility mode. Once that's worked out, it runs straight up like it's the early 2000's. I have it on my laptop, and fly with a PS3 controller (which was far trickier to setup than the comparatively ancient game) 2
Eisenfaustus Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Crimson skies is cool - but today a little on the ugly side. Sky rogue is nice arcade fun: https://store.steampowered.com/app/381020/Sky_Rogue/ Alternatively if all options are on easy the WWI birds of flying circus aren't to hard to fly. Same for IL2 '46 - everthing on easy and he can fly around a little without stall induced crashes At least that is, what I let my 6 year old fly from time to time ^^
