Icons - Square bracket

In QMB 4 vs 4: with icons on, there is a square red bracket around one of the enemy aircraft, what does this do or mean? Can you use the 'Destroy!' hand command to your wingmen to attack this one? Or does the 'cover me' focus your wingmen on that AI aircraft? Can you move this bracket onto another enemy aircraft and divert attention there?

 

Also what does the icon with two ^ on top of each other like military stripes mean? - figured this out, it is the leader.

Bracket is just the target. Could sometimes be one in a flight of four, where really they are all targets.

The icon with the two ^^ by the name is the flight leader, it will show you for both enemy and friendly.

Ah ok thanks. To the bin in a Mod it goes then.

One quirk about that target box. It is not hidden by my plane's structure like regular icons are.
