Our damage modellers have done incredible work in creating outstanding 3D damage model effects for the new aircraft. The latest images really showcase this work.

Would be great to hear comments from the community.

Cheers,

TFS Team.

Wow, that's looking really great.  Very well done!  Can't wait to play it!

Q.  Does the damage change the way the plane handles?

Sorry if this is a noob question, but then I am a noob!

Bit of a major service needed on that one chaps!

The effects look great by the way...

Wow!

Impressive détails on the way it loose parts. The removed part of the tail and the engine hood is really great!!! I like also the impact in the canopy

Yes and it is very noticeable. Yesterday I got few hits in the left wing of the G50 and I had to keep the stick fully right and to use rudder to compensate for the roll tendency. During the other mission my hydraulic system got damaged so I was unable to deploy flaps and landing gear so I had to force land on the belly.

CloD is the best. Great work, Team Fusion!

I'm at the point where I don't post comments because they would all be pleading to let me pre-order.

I'll say though:

The art looks brilliant!

Also - Do I see the panel blown off where the radio is (because the radio scuttling charge blew)?

The damage model is truly impressive, most likely the hardest part of the build to get right because I guess we all have a certain perception of what exactly we individually consider real and representative of what was suffered by all aircraft in various combat situations, you only have to look at the amount of posts on the DM for the G.B. and F.C. series to see that it is a very emotive subject and extremely difficult to portray correctly.:drinks:

It looks excellent in all the images so far posted and in what I see myself on the rare occasions I load the sim myself and if it looks right I for one am happy.

Still waiting patiently for a release though, please make it soon, I am not getting any younger you know.

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

Looks great graphically but the scale of damage - particularly in the first shot, is a little over the top if you intend for that plane to keep on flying.

Disagree - we've all seen the footage of what cannon shells can do to tail and control surfaces of B17's for example - and who's to say how long the Spit in question would keep on flying?

I personally think the damage looks three dimensional and realistic - well done TF.

I really like the way the damage model is looking, it's the best I've seen to date. ?

Pilot is dead, and the plane is just flying on it's own until the engine stops or whatever.  I don't think that's going to keep flying (eventually gliding?) very long.

Yep, that looks very convincing. You know how to tease us, eh?

Looks amazing! I agree with featherhead you want to avoid the Swiss cheese effect in IL2.

It looks really amazing, except for the hole in the canopy right side. It has the same "bent metal" texture and pentagon shaped hole like on the fuselage when this is on glass, so it should be sharp broken/shattered not folded in like that?

I like it. Can't wait for the release.

My only minor nitpick would be that the holes are very similar to each other. All of them are pentagon-shaped and especially the top-most holes seem to be identical wrt orientation. Adding a bit of variance to them would make it look more natural.

Absolutely! I've seen a fuel tank explosion couple of days ago and it was fantastic! Very natural, I can only imagine how it'll look in VR.

Who said it’s going to keep flying?

If that is the entry wounds, imagine what the exit holes would be like.

The idea of having an entire maintenance access panel coming off is great. It really makes the damage look alive.
