Schrecklichkeit Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 I was going to log in and play around a bit but apparently I have to download another 20GB update. This is pretty aggravating because I don't play often and just a month ago or so I downloaded a ~15GB update. I'm spending more time downloading updates than playing. Is this normal or do I have a setting wrong somewhere?
rfoushee Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 I am having similar problems. After last update the game will not connect me to the server. I've deleted, downloaded three times, get the same result, and frankly this is getting old fast. I need some administrative help.
RedKestrel Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 The game should not be re-downloading every time you need an update. This last update was only 680 mb for me. The time before that was a few GB, not 15 or 20. There is something else going on with your install. You can contact support here.https://il2sturmovik.com/support/
Schrecklichkeit Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 How does one check the status of a support ticket? I sent one two days ago, but have no idea how to see the reply. The support link just has links to the FAQ and a form to send another ticket.
Schrecklichkeit Posted June 18, 2020 Author Posted June 18, 2020 Is their support not working during the pandemic? Figured I'd have received a reply by now.

So, if you left the game for a while and didn't play at all, then your update will be larger as if you update your game on a regular basis. That's why some of us had only about 600MB to download with the last update, which was actually a hotfix (4.007c). Also you should not forget, whether you own one module or all of them, the whole game is locally present in your installation. And big updates like 3.xxx, 4.xxx etc. will of course modify a whole bunch of existing files.
