Purple/pinkish glow night flying IL2 COD

So I have recently purchased IL2 B.O.S and really like it and it has got me back into C.O.D, however, I really want to do a night bombing mission over london, however I have encountered a few issues;

 

1) No searchlights. What I mean by this is when I fly the bombing mission on the quick  single player missions and set it to night time (around 2300) there is absolutely no searchlights at all which obviously takes away a lot of the atmosphere.

 

2) I have a really weird graphics issue and i'm not sure whether it's just the game engine being bad at night graphics or something else causing the issue. I can practically see everything in the cockpit and the houses on the ground with a weird purple glow to everything, it looks pretty ridiculous. I have attached a screen shot showing the issue.

Yes, that's the colour everyone sees. While not ideal that's just how it is at the moment. Hopefully v5 (or an interim patch) will give the nigh lighting a boost.
