DickDong Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Watched it happen in front of me with my kids watching... the pass before Eddie almost didn't make it either so I was shocked when he tried it again.
DickDong Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) They'll be fine I hope, RIP Eddie. Edited May 6, 2014 by jarhead2b
DD_bongodriver Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 in my time in aviation I have witnessed at least 4 fatal crashes and another 3 resulting in serious injury, and once I thought I was about to see my father buy it but he managed to make safe forced landing after an engine failure, you don't have to be a child to feel it in the pit of your stomach.
Finkeren Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Unfortunately that is the reality of flying. We can try to limit the risks as much as posible, but tragic accidents like this will happen once in a while. Sending my thoughts to those left behind.

I myself have been very fortunate, and luckily have learned from those stupid mistakes to become wiser. Eddie flew a nice P-51 demo prior too.
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 It is a sad fact that you don't have to be involved in aviation long before you know people who have come to grief.
