Hello all,

I recently bought IL2 Battle of Boddenplatte and was appalled at the joystick config system. I play Aerofly Fs2, X-plane 11, P3D, DCS and now IL2 in VR and DCS has the best joystick system and IL2 the worst. I'm writing this because of all the frustration I experienced and with help from the forums how I solved the issues, in the hope that it might help someone. I have a SCRATCH BUILT Captain's side walk in 737 flight deck with about 14 devices including wireless mouse and keyboard.

Here is how I got things to work.

Use one USB hub, mine is a powered D-link  and put the main devices, in my case mouse, keyboard, Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas stick, TWS throttle, CH Pro Pedals and Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. It does not seem to matter the order and I have changed from the CH Flight Yoke to the 3D Pro with no issues. Disconnect all other gaming devices and confirm or calibrate in setup joysticks config. ( just type that when you click on start and in the box to the right go up to click on it to open. It's a small windows utility to show you whats plugged in and if they are working properly.)

Go to the game (IL2)  and set all axis and buttons. Make sure they work properly. Plug in the other devices (all of my remaining ones are on ONE USB although that ONE USB HUB may have two or three USB hubs connected to it.) After this I was able to fly and use all devices in DCS and IL2 BOB worked perfectly.

If in IL2 the box comes up recognizing the new devices, CANCEL repeatedly until you are OUT of there. After two days and with no provocation at all, the throttle stopped working in IL2. Aaargggg !

I just disconnected the second USB hub and the throttle worked again in IL2 with no other changes. Through all of this the steam "take off generic joysticks" was OFF ( not ticked.)

I hope this helps someone.

Godbless
