Just to clarify, the Thrustmaster extension and Virpil T-50 share the same thread pattern so they can be used interchangeably between them, right?

What about the connectors, will it work on the stick? Has anybody tried it? Thanks.

Yes. I have a TM Cougar handle on a Virpil WarBRD base and it works just fine. Any other TM handle on any other Virpil base will work just as well. The connectors are fully compatible.

Same with the extensions as well.

I have a Thrustmaster F-18 stick on Virpil WarBRD and  it works just fine. If you want to twist the grip a bit (like I did in the picture) you need to remove the two small screws in the WarBRD base. As is recommended by Virpil.

Thanks, guys. I have the Virpil T-50 grip and base and would like to extend the shaft. If you guys could use TM grips on Virpil bases then that means a TM extension will work.

Thanks.

I love that button box. DIY or other?

I’ve got the Warthog stick on a Virgil base, with the Virgil extensions. Works like a charm! You do lose the ability to program the stick in TARGET though. Just a heads up.

Hey WWChunk, just a heads up, it is possible to use TARGET with a hybrid TM Warthog grip /Virpil base. I've got that exact setup.

You need to replace the Virpil base VID/PID/POLL numbers to the Warthog numbers in the Virpil configuration software. The Warthog vid/pid/poll is 044F/0402/0.

Details on the internet. I had to do this 'cause I just couldn't get Joystick Gremlin to work with the combination key presses.

Cheers

DIY - Just finished it and rally happy with it. It uses a Leo Bodnar control board. Has 5 axis, 2 rotaries, 17 individual switches.

Had to replace the levers you see in this picture  (from a very old and bad aviator joystick) with my own design.

ciderworm has it right - I use the Warthog handle on an extension on the T50CM2 base and I use TARGET.

ps  Aviasim no centre cam for roll, Aviasim soft centre cam for pitch.  Strongest springs tightened down and loosened off 8 turns.
