401-HARRIER Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 (edited) The 401 will be in the skies again. We hope to see some of our old friends and foes. #401HARRIER Edited May 5, 2014 by 401-HARRIER
71st_AH_Hooves Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Harrier there is already a 401 squadron. Run by wolverine. Are you with him?
No.401_Wolverine Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) I believe there may have been a #401 Squadron before ours as I've heard from some folks about it, It appeared to have disbanded some time ago. Actually, the first I heard about it was only quite recently, nearly two years after starting our group. That said, having looked into it I believe #401 was quite an old group, dating back to the beginning of the IL-2 franchise. Like I said, though, it appeared to have completely disappeared. I definitely invite Harrier to come by and check out our group - a bunch of us are planning to fly BoS with more regularity once there's more content there to be had. Perhaps it's an opportunity to grow? Our squadron is currently still progressing through a long hard co-op competitive online campaign in Cliffs of Dover, simulating the real No.401's actions in 1941 (we've already done the Battle of Britain). Hopefully soon there will be something good in BoS to bring us over. We're also looking forward to the DCS Spitfire Mk.IX. http://401squadron.boardforum.ca We also have the www.401squadron.com domain/ftp (no website yet, but working on it). 401-HARRIER Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 Yes we are the original IL2 group along with the #402Cdn Squadron. We never left. You might have started in COD but we never left IL2.
401SEABEE Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Yeah there is a 401 squadron, we have been active since the orig game came out, idk who this new squadron is but the old crew is still here. i am yo-S, and harrier is yo-Z, we are getting the old crew back together, anyone who is new is welcome to join us, but we will never surrender our call-signs and letters
No.401_Wolverine Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Would never presume anyone would surrender call-signs and letters. Plenty of people use the 1© or 401 markings who aren't even in an online squadron. Considering that BoS won't even have callsign decals for the aircraft, it's kind of moot in this game's respect anyway. Our group is a Cliffs of Dover group pretty exclusively for the moment. Do you guys have a site or forum? Are you currently flying a '46 campaign or missions?
401-HARRIER Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 We did and one of our members was in control of that and didn't renew the website domain I assume that is how you have it now.
