Bodenplatte map finished?

There is always the possibility of a revision, like they did with Stalingrad textures some years ago for free.

I thought that was a fantastic upgrade. Really brought the map up a level, and you still got excellent performance. If the Bodenplatte map sees that kind of love, it will be very nice.

Someone mentioned the new Channel map over at "the other place", and it's freaking gorgeous, nicest I've ever seen, but unless you're rocking some serious hardware, your interactions may be limited to say the least.

Yes, I was surprised by the Stalingrad upgrade (and blown away).

Talking about new ground vehicles, depots, cities though... that is likely a lot more work... if anyone has ideas on how they could raise a million dollars (or so) to revisit it - then I suppose complaining makes sense. But without a plan to realise it - expecting the team to magically produce results without a budget might be a bit unrealistic though.

That said - I'd really love some river barges and a few larger rail depots (and that would only require something closer to a hundred thousand)...

P.S. I also have stutter over the existing cities... so I tend to avoid them... if cities were in still more places - might it produce issues with minimum system requirements (and thus actually shrink revenues as well as increase expenses)?

my only issue with this map is the ground texture repeats in a way that has very noticeable "lines" of the same texture pattern off into the horizon.

If the map is done and not being worked on for future updates I think that's fine! I think i'm just being nit picky.

This Mod helps a little. Check it out:

Stalingrad map became my favorite after that upgrade. I love flying in Kuban map. But for fighting I prefer Stalingrad.

For me Moscow map for the better looking towns. More realistic with more houses and less trees. Of course I am talking about the normal towns not the important towns like Novorosijsk, Anapa, Kerch, or so, which are modelled quite well.

I need to start a PWCG campaign in Moscow, after all this time I still have yet to fly over that map.

I'm a first to last type so my campaign just got off of Moscow.  I enjoyed it although the snow gets dreary.  The plane set is fun.

I’m a snow or water/islands kind of guy.

No islands right now, so I’m all about the snow.

Not the best looking map and obviously lacking much details.

The moscow map remains the best it doesnt have glitches and is quite detailed.

If only Jason hired that contractor again to make the il-2 maps, i'm afraid Normandy will have the same low level of detail.

Yup. Let´s wait and see how the development of the Normandy map goes. At the end we, the customers can vote with our wallets.

I already voted with my wallet pre-buying Rheinland and FC1. I'll wait and see but right now i am not falling in a similar trap called Normandy.

While I do agree with others about the lack of yards/depots/industry/villages I really appreciate the effort they put in the airfields.

Another point I would like to add is that most of the german ground equipment (artillery/anti air and anti tank guns) and vehicles/tanks in the game are still painted in Dunkelgrau (dark grey) which should be extremely rare if not non-existent by 1944/1945, even exclusive Dunkelgelb (dark yellow) which the new vehicles are painted in (Jadgpanzer IV/Sdkfz 7 + Flak/Flakvierling 38) should be rare for the period of the career, most german units in late war where painted in an mix of 3 main colors namely : Dunkelgelb (dark yellow), Rotbraun (red-brown) and Olivegrun (olive green), hopefully this is addressed with Normandy.

There IS a pair of vehicle texture mods done by Detcord with late war schemes.  You’ll have search for it here on the forums though.  I have it, but I’ve modified it a bit.
