Grey*Ghost Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Hi guys, i have just added Flying Circus to my portfolio. I have cranked up all settings to max including 4K textures. From the outside all looks fine but I am not sure if the cockpit is supposed to look like this - textures on the wing or on top of the engine look very blurry and not sharp and crisp at all. Am I doing something wrong or is this just the level of quality? thanks for your help guys!
FTC_Snowy Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Well, I’m using VR and the cockpits in FC look very authentic and natural to me. That image/screen capture you post looks oversharpened or something like that. What sort of rig do you have?
Atomic_Spaniel Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 That's just what I see. The cockpit textures are OK, but where the wings etc are close they do look blurred. I guess this is because the 4k external texture is spread over the entire model. The real pfalz was painted in an smooth aluminium silver dope and would not have had the rather scruffy textures we have in FC.

Even in the old Cliffs Of Dover the cockpit textures look much crisper and sharper. 12 hours ago, Atomic_Spaniel said: That's just what I see. Could it be that the textures used for the external perspective are the same that are used for the cockpit perspective? If so I guess it would be no wonder. Than being in cockpit would be like zooming into the texture all the way until it gets pixelated/blurry.
FTC_Snowy Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 Hmmm. What do your other modules cockpits look like for you?
Atomic_Spaniel Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 @Grey*Ghost Yes, I think the texture on the trailing edge of the top wing is the external texture with the black dots (holes?) Superimposed. It wouldn't be so bad, except that it is so close to the point of view. The texture does look like it has some colour noise on it so a good skin might reduce it a bit.

Thats one of the reasons I did advise to Jason, in case there will be an FC2, give Yugramedia a decent VR headset. Because I suspect Yugramedia does not have any decent VR headset to test its own designs. edit: did you try all the FC1 planes, as strangely there are a couple of planes in FC1 that are surprisingly very good.
