Hud speed vs Instrument speed reading

I noticed that it is a diference between the Hud speed and the instrument speed. The higher I fly, the lesser speed shows the Hud, compared with the instrument reading.-

I'm pretty sure they are both supposed to be IAS though. The instruments are only IAS and TAS is almost always higher than IAS so the HUD airspeed shouldn't be getting lower.

OP do you have a screenshot? What plane is this happening in? 

Could it possibly be you have the HUD set in miles per hour and you are flying a plane with speed measured in kilometres per hour?

The altimeter can be way off kilter too.

The altimeter is an easier one to explain. The HUD version is relative to the ground so its like having a radar altimeter (except it works at all altitudes).

 

For the speed discrepancy that's a bit harder to solve as both should be the same. Perhaps one is standardized in measurement and the other is relative?

Have you tried turning the HUD off and just fly the aeroplane using the instruments installed there for that purpose? Works for me.

Nonetheless a solution for that issue would be interesting, to understand if it is a bug ,feature or misconfiguration.

Absolutely. We need to know if its a misconfiguration, or if the HUD or airspeed indicators are wrong.

Were you playing with 262, its gauge shows you true airsped abow 400kmh. For any other airplane speeds shown in hud are same as ones in gauges, ias, i never noticed any differances.
